It is used by yogis in the East and West to bring stillness in meditation – a serene mental state unifying consciousness of the body, mind and spirit. Lavender has been used for stress reduction for hundreds of years and is a pleasant scent.

Apart from research that shows essential oils do have an effect on the mind-relaxing or stimulating-there is no substantiated evidence of their effects on individual emotions. Aromatherapy is practised all over the world by Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Chinese medicine, Herbal medicine and Naturopathy practitioners.

Don’t be discouraged, there are many other types of aromatherapy candles available. The pain of a period can be worse when we are feeling particularly emotional or stressed, or when we are also experiencing pain from other causes. Aromatherapy offers many benefits in this area including preventative, healing, and recovery.
