The Power That Lifts

Also known as Himalayan bowl or cup gong, a singing bowl, is a musical instrument used in Buddhist meditation and are traditionally played in monasteries by Buddhist monks. For I find that in my life meditation plays the role of teacher, ethicist, protector, tour guide, healer, friend and minister – not strictly in that order. Deeper and deeper I go until I am so relaxed I feel like I could stay there forever. Meditation is an integral part of yoga practice, in fact, the purpose of asana practice is to settle the body and focus the mind in preparation for meditation.

The Hamsa meditation helps us find the grace within and carries us beyond our limited concepts. I focused my mind on that light and prayed, ‘Let this light refresh and invigorate my mind and spirit’. Meditation is a practice that you spend certain amount of time during the day.

A few images of some random things in nature (like green leaves, trees, horse etc.) ran for a split second in front of my eyes and the next thing I experienced was like a flash that lasted for a second. 2. Meditation – There are countless books, tapes, videos and classes that teach people how to meditate.

All you have to do is sit down comfortably, close your eyes and focus or pay attention to your breathing, in and out, in and out. I hope this article will help you to find inspiration, while letting go of the struggle to find it. I also hope that writing a gratitude list, at least once, will help you to connect with your gifts, strengths and abundance.

When we have peace and clarity in the mind, we experience a healthier physical body. This is the first step towards meditation and is important to as this helps in clearing the mind of all other thoughts. Take the phone off the hook, turn the TV off or down and don’t meditate while there are children around, you will never get piece and quite when there is children, what till they are in bed or at school to meditate.
